Mommy-Joshy date

What a busy week we've had! Making MOPS cookbooks, altering a prom dress, and taking care of 2 kids with fevers among 4 days of tornado watches & warnings, and assorted other crazy weather.

In the aftermath, Joshua couldn't go to school on Thursday because he had had a high fever the day before. My neighbor took Zoe and after I worked for a few hours, we went on a Mommy-Joshy date to the bowling alley. He was a little excited, can you tell?
They gave him the ramp, which was great because it eliminated a lot of frustration for everyone. All we had to worry about was him dropping the ball on his toes.

I think he was most excited that his ball came back to him every time!

I caught Zoe practicing for her baby sister (or so she says). She also likes to put her baby down for naps all over the house. Her idea of putting baby down for a nap is covering her head with a blanket (or 5). Little does she know that this was the same baby we dressed up as a little girl and introduced to Joshua when we were expecting our little Zoe! It won't be long before we find out whether we need to dress baby in pink or blue this time :)

one sultry honey bun

No, I'm not getting all R rated on my blog, that's just what I used to make this quilt! I had a honey bun (1.5" strips) of "Sultry" moda fabric and made this cute little babygirl quilt with it. I used 5 strips per block, so it's about 30"x36". I'm really sick of pink & brown so I left most of the brown strips out.

I pretty much did the same thing as Zoe's cherry quilt from last year, except hers was made with a jelly roll so it's 5'x4'.

We find out what we're having on May 23rd :) We'll see if this quilt ends up as a gift or not.

Here's the next one I'm working on, with 2 "fandango" charm packs. It should end up about 45x45. I'm thinking this could work for a boy? What do you think?

After hunting eggs & checking out their buckets, we read the Easter story from Joshua's Bible while they had their breakfast. I'm so thankful for having the privilege & responsibility of teaching them about Jesus!

And this little one too! He/she is getting bigger! We find out if s/he's a little brother or a sister on May 23rd!

stormy weather

Joshua was pouty one day and got in the glider with his blanket and informed me "I'm just going to stay like this until Daddy gets home" That lasted about 10 minutes.Modeling their shirts from Cozumel. An octopus and a shark, their mouths open and close.

Watching my neighbor's kids so she could go see Lady Gaga. Joshua was also in the room, in his bed. Zoe saw everyone else getting ready to sleep in Joshua's room and was NOT about to be left out. Surprisingly, they didn't take long to get to sleep.
and of course we had a tornado watch at 1am. If it had just been my two, I might have left them in bed knowing that I could get them to the laundry room quickly. However, with 4 sound asleep kids and 2 of them not mine, I felt better safe than sorry to get them all in there when the sirens went off.

it just figures...

let the fun begin! don't get me wrong, I love to learn new things, but learning how to fix a fridge just wasn't too high on my list. Oh well, since I have the opportunity I might as well give it a try before I pay a repairman to do what I might be able to do myself! If I do get it fixed, I'll go buy myself something nice instead, because this sure has been a pain in the neck so far!!!

oh look, there's a disassembled freezer in the middle of my kitchen. Just how I was hoping to spend Saturday. Yes, that's all my food in the cooler. Grrr.so far, our culprit seems to be the freezer fan motor. Let's hope it's that and not the $300 voltage control board thingy.

29 again!

Happy birthday to me! I'm getting pretty good at 29 :)

much to my dismay, Joshua & Zoe didn't like angel food cake! They both liked the cool whip though. On the upside... more cake for me :)
