Happy Easter!

this was the only picture I got before the battery died. Fortunately, Tracie had her camera and took a bunch for us. This was after they hunted eggs in the front yard. I'll have to have them in these outfits again for school pictures - hopefully the big bruises on Zoe's forehead will be gone.

this was before church. Joshua was so excited about his "Easter dress," especially about his "tie on," as he called them. He kept pulling his tie out of his vest to show people.

Daffodils and a few tulips in front of the deck. We obviously need some more mulch here, but I'm not going anywhere near here until the wasps are gone. The green stuff behind the tulips/daffodils are liriope (monkey grass) and the green plants in front are phlox.

Raised veggie bed built by Craig. We have all kinds of seedlings in here. We'll see how they do, most look pretty happy so far.

Perennials starting to come up. The large one is a lupine which I will have to pull up if the kids decide to mess with the flowers, since lupines are poisonous. Oops.
All dianthus under the birch tree that I didn't expect to return. I got some pansies to go in between them, but I'm pretty happy that I won't have to plant anything else there!

Family Vacay

The kiddos and I took a family vacay to Hampton Bays for the last couple weeks. Also got to visit Rhode Island to see Mom & Grandma for a few days. We got to spend time with Nonna, celebrate Emily's birthday, and play cards with my Grandma. Great trip, and we were all glad to get home safely. To celebrate, I did 4 loads of laundry and mowed the lawn. Now I'm watching David Carusoe aka the worst actor in the world and trying to finally blog for the first time in who knows how long. I had high hopes of doing something to celebrate my 300th blog post, oh well.

Zoe's hair is pretty long in the front and in the back, but somehow not long enough to all be put up in one elastic. I can only get it into a ponytail when wet, and it doesn't stay well so I had to get these pictures quickly.

She had lots of fun playing with these new elastics. She was taking them out and putting them back in with the right colors. They all eventually ended up on the floor, of course.

Also, if you don't see your baby's picture on Zoe's board, it's because she likes to take them down and play with them while getting changed. Or because it's on Joshua's board. Or the fridge.

Zoe caught a glimpse of her princess bathing suit in her closet and HAD TO have it on. She was on her way into the bathtub, so it all made sense to me. Everything was fine until I had to take it off of her. She was not too pleased, but I put it in the dryer and got it back on her as soon as possible. Thanks, Rosemarie. It's a big hit, and it's not even pool weather yet.She's pointing to the princesses saying "Pincess. Pitty Pincess"

Finally put up some pictures! I'm happy to finally have them up, and actually really like it. I painted a lot of the frames blue, and left the others brown. Nice to finally have some family photos up, and have something on that big wall!

I used the 'hang paper on the wall first' method. As with almost everything else I do that looks creative, I copied it. I think I saw it on The Nesting Place first.

Sew & Tell - Crayon rolls & baby seat

I made this little portable fabric chair thingy for an upcoming trip. I've seen the idea a couple places, but these are the instructions I used or a link to them, or something. Saw this on fresh poppy earlier this week (or whenever you gals first posted it... see, it's their sew & tell too!) and set to work right away! The purpose was to be able to contain Zoe in an adult chair, without having to bring a high chair. Luckily, the place I am going is equipped with a high chair with straps because I Tell You What... that little princess is crafty (and by crafty, I don't mean that she makes stuff) and whipped herself right out of 3 layers of velcro faster than I could say "you'd better sit down on that booty." To which she proudly replied "booty!!" and gave herself her own spanking while standing on the chair. I tell you! I will be finding some extra clips around here somewhere in order to Zoe-proof the seat before our trip. She must be contained!!!

On to my next (and more successful) endeavor...

Love to make these crayon rolls for gifts! They're fast, fun, and I haven't met a child who doesn't like them! I gave these to a friend whose 2 little girls are the same age as Joshua and Zoe, and in the same PDO classes. I still 'owe' 3 gifts, 2 boys & 1 girl, so I'll be making a few more in the near future!
