Happy Father's Day to all the other dads!

Happy Father's Day to all the great Dad's we know... especially our own, Dad & Pappy. Thanks for being such great fathers to us and wonderful Grandfathers to Joshua and, soon, Zoe. We hope you have a great Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to Jon, Jason & Matthew too! All our neices and nephews are so blessed to have great dads, and we hope that God blesses you all as you enjoy Father's Day with your wonderful families!

Love, Kim, Craig, Joshua & Zoe

Happy Father's Day Craig!!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy, you're the most wonderful Daddy that I could ever have! We have so much fun and I can't wait to be like you when I grow up. Thank you most of all for being a great example of God's love and teaching me all about Him and how to have a relationship with Him as my Father in Heaven. Love, Joshua (p.s. Zoe told me to tell you that she can't wait to meet you)

The Swingset - Day 1

I must say I am truly impressed with this thing! We got the plans off the internet from a guy who bulids swingsets in Houston (coincidence!) Craig printed them out on Wednesday and studied them that night in preparation for his trip to Home Depot & Lowes on Thursday. This morning, he was at it bright and early (8:15 I think) and got everything cut, routed, and built the ladder and most of the fort. We're supposed to have thunderstorms all day tomorrow so he may not be able to finish it this weekend... but I sure am amazed at how quickly he's gotten this far! His friend Ryan is on R&R and stopped by with his son for a few hours to help (his wife was at work, he was bored, and I called to invite them over for coconut cake - when I got home from my pedi, more than half the cake was gone) Anyway, here are some pictures of the swingset, a few from safety day yesterday, and a few of Joshua playing in the pool the day before that...

The kind of helicopter Craig flies. Joshua kept pointing to the helicopters saying "dat brrrrrr dat brrrrrrr" Joshua flying the MH-60. His cheeks are all red because he was having a little reaction to the sunscreen. We had to cancel his 18mos photos because he had a rash on his face the next day, plus little scratches from scratching it during naptime. Oh, and his cheeks were red because it was about 96 degrees out!
Joshua in his pool on the deck. He had tons of fun in here... am I horrible for not buying him a bigger one??
dump. he did this over and over and over. yes, that's his pajama top. He didn't want to take it off because it has a 'pup' on it

Joshua helping daddy build...

Joshua & Daddy in front of his helicopter
Mommy, Daddy, Joshua, and a Zoe in the oven :)

Daddy's Big Helper (will work for cookies)
Ma got Joshua this cute outfit last time we visited, how appropriate (except he can't read, so I didn't have to give him any cookies :)
Joshua giving Daddy a pat on the back for all his hard work (he really is patting him on the back)
climbing his new ladder (he climbed up and down all by himself... with my hand under him in case he fell of course)
on the way up with his socket wrench
it's not a hammer, but Joshua doesn't know that

OK, I obviously didn't get these on there in order, but I think you can figure out what's what! Enjoy

this is so fun!

I'm so excited now that I can put pictures and videos on here!! Now I just have to figure out how to get them so they won't take 20 minutes to upload (Craig's suggestion was 'take shorter videos'. He's a genius, what can I say :)

Anyway, I figured I'd try to find another video to upload so that if I start it now, it might be done by dinner (it's 8am, folks)

Craig's outside working on Joshua's playground. He went to Lowe's & Home Depot yesterday and got all the tools and materials. Last night, he routed the edges of all the lumber (prettier & safer) and now he's cutting stuff. In return for his genius advice on the photos, I offered him mine on the playground: "measure twice, cut once." After the playground is done, Craig will decide whether he wants to extend the deck himself or not.

Joshua's in his room and I've heard him talking a few times (he likes to yell his favorite words... this morning it was "Bee." Yesterday it was "Bob-BEE" (he likes Bob the Builder these days, every time he sees his Bob the Builder potty seat he says "Bob-BEE" - he sounds like a little mobster, it's cute. Sometimes it's "NO" or, more recently "Go." In between the yelled words, he talks to his books, himself, whoever in there is listening... When I hear "Ma" or "Dat," I know he's done and I go get him (yesterday, he amused himself for an hour!!!)

Today we're going to run errands while Craig builds. Then I'm going to get a much needed pedi while Joshua naps! I'm also going to take my $50 gas receipt to chick-fil-A for a free milkshake. I don't NEED a milkshake, but it's free so I might as well drink it :) We were going to get Joshua's 18 mos pics done in Lucas' little tux today, but he got a little rash from sunblock on his face yesterday so we'll postpone until he doesn't look like he's wearing blush :)

OK, I'll try to find a short video...

another test video...

here's a video of Joshua bouncing in his crib. I think this goes with one of my very first blogs way back in April. Anyway, this is from our new camera so, if you can watch it, that means I'm getting closer to having this all figured out! Yay! (note to self: next time pick a smaller file, this has taken 20 minutes to upload)

test video... but so cute!!

Here's a video of Joshua back in March. He loves to run around naked after bathtime... and loves it even more when he gets chased. Ma had him laughing pretty good. This is a video from Craig's old camera (doesn't work anymore), I need to figure out how to get videos from the new camera in the right format... it's tough being technologically challenged :)

our new house!!

phew, I can't believe it's been since May 23rd. It's not that I haven't had anything to write about, it's just that I've had no time (and for a week, no internet)!

We moved all week the last week in May, closed on our old house and new house on May 29th, and have been moving in and getting settled since. Craig lifted EVERYTHING by himself. I swear, I do not get pregnant to get out of moving furniture, but it sure does help! All the furniture is in place and we really love the house. Most of the boxes are unpacked too and we have plenty of room for everything, which is wonderful!! Sadly enough, I've only had time to take one bath in my new big bathtub.

We've got plans for a swingset/fort for Joshua, an extended deck, painting, etc, etc, but right now I'm trying to enjoy my last few (6ish) weeks one-on-one with Joshua. We get to hang out all day now that I'm not in school. On Mondays this month, he has gymnastics on post - he walked on the balance beam this week, and next month we're going to do a 'mommy and me' swim class for a couple weeks (yes that requires me to wear a bathing suit... thankfully, Emily loaned me a cute maternity suit and oh-so-essential wrap!)

I'm sure I could go on and on, but it's just not as much fun without pictures. I've spent the better part of the last 3 days trying to get our cameras straightened out. I'm danger close to getting it all working so hopefully there will be some cute Joshua photos and videos soon!
