crafty gifts

I haven't gotten to make any crafty gifts in a while, but wanted something special for Joshua & Zoe's preschool teachers. They truly love school and I truly appreciate their teachers' desire to really teach them. They both amaze me with how much they learn and I am so grateful that they are excited to see their teachers and friends every single time they have school. I made them each aprons (and one for myself) but forgot to take pictures of 3 of them. Doesn't it make you want to go bake something??!

Here is a nursing cover for a friend in my Sunday school class, and a matching wipes case. I really love this fabric!!

baby, it's cold outside!

Some of us are smart enough to stay in our warm bed. Others are tough enough to go for a walk at 5:45 am in -6 degrees and get icicles on our eyelashes.

Zoe in her tutu yet again, on her way to.....
take a nap on my floor, of course.here's a cute little guy...and his cute little sisterwho snuggled up together, unprompted, under my current projecta cute little quilt. 49x49 whirlygiggles of simple abundance with an off white muslin background. I'm 3/4 done binding it. I quilted it with feathers, a first for me, and love how it came out.

Joshua posing next to the cookies we packaged up for some of the Soldiers with whom Craig works. I think we made 18 in all.

lots of these are leftovers from our MOPS cookie exchange. Thanks, ladies!!!

snow day & other assorted fun

Got to go watch Daddy land when he got home from Reno. The kids loved seeing him fly so close, and so did I. He took them in for a tour after he unloaded his stuff, and Joshua was very excited to get to sit in the pilot seat. What fun! It was freezing out but so worth it!Yes, she is wearing a tutu over her outfit. All the time lately. Joshua loving his spiderman umbrella.

our first snow! I sent them out with Craig and went back inside to make hot cocoa.

Zoe saying the Pledge of Allegiance

Zoe said "Mommy, please say I Pledge Allegiance" so I got her started and she finished the rest. The first time was better but of course I didn't have the camera ready! By the third time, she was getting impatient (and so was Joshua, because she kept getting the last line wrong), but still pretty impressive for a 2 year old (ok, 28 months)

photo backlog

I haven't blogged since before Craig got back from overseas. We have nearly returned to our normal 2 parent routine so I can start adding my leisure activities back into the mix, bit by bit. So... I have a lot of pictures to catch up on! I just did Joshua's birthday. There are still pictures from our trip to the farm & halloween, plus other random stuff. Had I not forgotten my camera when we went to Memphis, I'd be even more behind!!!

Joshua's first night in his real bed! Got this bed w/ drawers for $25 at a yard sale, otherwise he would have been in a toddler bed until he didn't fit anymore! Daddy had to make it into a tent to entice him. This was several weeks ago, now he's an old pro at itsurrounded by his BFFs
Zoe & Daddy hanging in Daddy's truck. Awww.
Eating ice cream in my car. I was scared that it would be a horrific mess when I got home, but no one got a drop on anything other than their faces!

Joshua's 4th Birthday Party

We had an early birthday party for Joshua's 4th birthday. I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he said chuck e cheese. For gifts, he requested transformers, a nerf gun (he had seen one at a friend's party) and light up shoes. When I asked what cake he wanted, he asked for red spiderman cake. He got all of the above - isn't it nice to be 4!! He had a great time with friends, got to 'spend' some chuck e cheese tickets & had a wonderful birthday with Daddy home, and Ma & Pa here to celebrate with him!!

There's that nerf gun. Daddy has already given him several lessons in gun safety.
He was very excited about Gracie's present of little CAT trucks & machines!
We started at 10am so we could have the place all to ourselves for as long as possible. We got out of there just in time!!
a high 5 from Chuck himself. Unfortunately my camera was doing something strange.
